Awesome 24 Episode 1:00 AM - 2:00 AM

Just finished watching 24. Had it Tivo'd in HD on my crappy Cox DVR. Which for some odd reason decided to record it in two parts???? One 19 minutes long and the other 41 minutes???

Who knows why. Anyway, 24 is the only show I actually Tivo and watch every week. Some of the episodes have been good, and other's ok this season, but this one was Awesome!!

Ad for Savings on Granite Countertops!

Today's Washington Post had an ad for Huge Savings on Granite Countertops. $39.50 per sq. ft. Call 1-800-258-0688.

Since I know Hung is in the market thought I would post this. I don't know if that's a good price or not since I haven't been looking.

An oldie but a goodie!

Hung'r and Smacker...this ones's for you!

I think this is from Kappa Kappa Gamma Bid Day but I don't know what school.

Romero / Thomas Vacation!!!

Austin just booked us a Phat pad in the Outer Banks.

Six bedrooms, a pool table, our own private pool and jacuzzi! (Hope it has an Internet Connection so we can Blog!)

We're in for a good time. I'll be bringing my guitar to sing songs around the campfire.

Picking Cabinets for Hung's new Pad

The Hung'r has undertaken a serious task. He has completely ripped out the kitchen in his new pad and now it is nothing but a shell. He also widened the entry ways of the kitchen. Very impressive Hung'r :-)

Now he's looking for cabinets. His favorite are the slab front in maple.

He likes the contemporary looks so I told him my preference was the recessed in cherry.

Comments? Suggestions? Since we're discussing decorating and home remodeling maybe this should be called Big Al's Gay Blog as previously suggested?

Crazy Armored Bulldozer Story

Caught the footage of this on Fox News this morning. It's a crazy story of a guy who turned a bulldozer into an armored vehicle, than demolished a town. Absurd!! TheDenverChannel.com - News - Rampaging Bulldozer Driver Found Dead

Big Gay Al's friends

Did you ever see the episode of South park called Big Gay Al's Boat Ride. I've been lobbying to my brother to change this blogs name, because that's what this name reminds me of. If you havn't seen that episode, check out this clip. Smack does a great Big Gay Al.

The Hungrrrrrr Blog?

What if we just called the blog...Hungr. In honor of Hung?

He's much less red in this picture than usual. Bummer to have that missing enzyme.

...oh, and kenny, wine and beer are the WORST for asians to drink in terms of facial redness...

...for those of you who say that the asian glow is cute and healthy, you obviously don't know what it's like...

"Most people seem to take Pepcid AC 30-60 minutes before having any alcohol. It normally decreases redness, but is a catalyst to intoxication (you get drunk faster)."

Washington Socialites: Weekend Preview vs Suburban Dad

In my spare time I usually check out the Washington Socialites Page as it's mildly entertaining to read. They just posted what they plan to do this weekend so I thought I'd do the same.

Mine is for a Suburban Dad, as opposed to a Washington Socialite:

Friiday Night - Art of Living Class, then go home and go to bed. (Have to get to sleep early because little Grant? will be waking me up around 6 AM!)

Saturday Day - Day 3 of the class for a while then maybe a bike ride with my son?

Saturday Night - Birthday party for my niece Ava. Then it's back home where I'll be fielding "to do" requests from my wife. Some of which include "The Diaper Genie needs to be emptied." That's one of my favorites.

Sunday Day - Day 4 of my class (by this time I should have perfect and infinite mental clarity!). After that who knows...maybe a trip to Home Depot and then off to Church at St. John Neumann.

Whew. It's a world wind weekend!

New Names for this Blog

It has been brought to my attention that Big Al's Friends is not the best name in the world for the blog.

Apparently it conjures up thoughts of either a kids show, or some kind of porn discussion.

That said, I am taking recommendations on new names.

Let me know.

Austin, Welcome to the Blog!

Austin, you da man for being the first blog contributor!!! My goal will be to get everyone in this picture to be an active contributor to the blog. No non-contributors!!

Some poor girl who looks like Jenna Bush got caught at an inopportune time. The comments here are hilarious.

If you need help understanding how an HTML link works let me know. That too is pretty easy once it get's explained.

I hope to add more guest authors.

Why aren't we Members of the Capital Club?

Hmmm. I was wondering why Hung and I aren't members of the Capital Club given that we are so in with the Washington DC scene. Especially since I'm married with a 7 month old and almost no social life. Oh yea, that's why.

Looks like there are some hotties at their parties.

Time to Start Racing!! No Wimping out like last year!

We were very wimpy last year. We only did one wimpy Duathlon last year together. We must do better this year, especially now that Spring weather is here and I have spring fever!!

Time to start planning races. I checked out www.triath.com and was disappointed there wasn't much on the schedule. We'll have to do some more research.

Welcome Message!

Welcome to Big Al's Friends blog. My hope is that through this blog I'll have guest writers post their musings of the day and interests. We'll have to see.
